I recently figured out a way to decrease less noticeably with the granny square stitch.

When you want to start decreasing choose the spot you want to decrease one stitch and double crochet 2 in one spot, DONT chain, double crochet 2 in the next spot. On the next row, double crochet 3 in the opening before the 2 double crochets, DONT chain, and double crochet 3 in the opening after the second section of 2 double crochets.

Do not decrease in the same spot on each row every time because then it won’t look as even. I learned that the first sleeve I decreased.
