A few months while ago I wrote this pattern. I love thicker headbands with my bangs and came up with this design after trying many different versions of this headband. I recorded a video for this pattern before I started my internship and haven’t had time to edit it… until now! I’m still super busy with my internship and class but I took a day break because I had finished my internship content and the homework from this past week! Yay! I haven’t had time to do anything crochet related in what seems like ages so it only seemed fitting to give back to you all for having to wait for posts and content! I hope you enjoy this pattern! Hopefully more will come in July when my class is over! Any and all feedback is welcome. There is always room for improvement!
PATTERN
Materials:
- 100 yards of any light weight to medium weight yarn (#3 or #4)
- 4.5mm hook
- Scissors
- Needle
Terminology:
Ch: chain
Sp: space
Sc: single crochet
Dc: double crochet
(P#): Refer to that photo
Foundation: Ch 32.
NOTE: All photos are under the written pattern
Row 1: Sc in the 2nd loop from the hook, which is Ch #30. Sc 28. There should be 2 ch’s left. Ch 4. Sc in the 2nd loop from the hook, which is Ch #2. Dc in the next Ch. Sc in the same Sc Sp as the Sc that made the strap. Dc in the next St. Sc in the last Ch. (P1 & P2) (Should end with 5 St’s as the headband base and 28 Sc for the strap.)
Row 2: Ch 2. Dc in the Sc. Sc in the Dc below. Repeat Dc, Sc until the end of the row. Row should end with a Dc. (P3)
Row 3: Ch 1. Sc in the Dc’s and Dc in the Sc’s. Repeat Sc, Dc. Row should end with a Sc. (P4)
Repeat rows 2 and 3, 33 times. Should have a total of 36 rows.
Row 37: Ch 1. Sc, Dc, Sc, Ch 30. (P5)
The strap on the other side: Sc in the 2nd loop from the hook, which is Ch 28. Sc until you reach the headband base. (P6)
Dc in the next St. Then Sc. Ch 1, cut yarn, pull yarn end through the Ch. (P7)
Weave in your ends.
