FREE Evil Eye Mirror Charm Pattern

After trying to figure out a free pattern I could make, I came up with this cute charm! You can literally use your scrap yarn to make these and they’re so quick to make.

Materials:

#4 medium weight yarn

4.5mm hook

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Pattern:

Foundation: magic circle and chain 3

Row 1: (black yarn) Double crochet 12 in the magic circle. In the last double crochet, change colors.

With the new color (lighter color of the two same colors), Slip stitch into the second loop of the chain.

Row 2: (lighter color) Chain 2. Repeat Single crochet, single crochet two in the same stitch. Single crochet two in the last stitch. In the last single crochet, switch colors (white).

Slip stitch in the 2nd loop of the chain.

Row 3: (white) chain 3. Repeat double crochet two in one stitch, double crochet in next stitch. Double crochet 2 in the last stitch and switch colors in the last stitch.

Slip stitch into the 2nd loop of the chain.

Row 4: Single crochet, Single crochet, single crochet two in the third stitch. Repeat this until you crochet 18 single crochets.

In the next stitch, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet.

Chain 2. Then triple crochet, double crochet, single crochet in the next stitch.

Repeat Single crochet, single crochet, single crochet two in the next stitch until the last stitch. In the last stitch single crochet 2. Slip stitch in the first single crochet. Finish off the circle and weave in all your ends.

For the hanging strands at the bottom of the eye, cut five 8” strands of yarn. Fold the yarn in half.

Put your hook through the first single crochet of the last row and pull a loop of all five strands through.

Pull the ends of the strands through that loop to create a knot. Tighten the knot. Then cut the yarn so there’s about 2” hanging down.

For the string that holds the eye on the mirror, cut a 17” strand of yarn. Put your yarn though the needle. Flip eye to the backside. Put the needle through the two loops shown in the picture below.

Pull yarn until there’s a few inches left. Then go back through those two loops the same way you did before to create the large loop that will hold the eye. Have your large loop be 7” long.

Knot the two shorter strands of yarn and weave in those ends!

Flip your project to the front. Put your hook between the triple crochets and pull that large loop through.

You’re finished!!!

I hope you all enjoyed this pattern! The tutorial is on my YouTube if you would prefer to watch the video. I am always open for feedback so I can improve my future work and videos! Feel free to leave a comment on what you think would improve this pattern!

With care,

Alyssa
